Web Metaphor

SIR exploits the Web metaphor to distribute the documentation. All components which are processed by SIR are accessed through hyperlinks. So users need no training in query languages, icon specific actions, nor data models. Users familiar with a browser can be operational with SIR in less than half a day.

Navigation Modes

In addition to the standard hyperlinks navigation, SIR offers three additional navigation modes:

Hierarchical

Users can discover and navigate through an application using the application hierarchical structure as defined by the organization.

Expert Analysis

Users can use the expert analysis menu to tackle specific maintenance issues such as Database usage, Transaction usage, File usage , Data flow analysis…

Direct Access

Direct access to components is provided, based on the full or partial name of the component, or based on any character string within components. Wildcard search is also provided.

Presentation Style

According to the type of information to be presented, users may choose the most relevant style: HTML pages or graphics

On-line Contextual Help

Context specific on-line help is permanently provided. The help pages are displayed on separate browser windows for easier navigation. New users will take advantage of the "Overview", "Getting Started", and "How To" on-line pages.
